Learning, Leading, Succeeding

When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian and Beulaville Elementary is helping to prepare me for my future goal.  I am also a translator to one of our new students that speaks only Spanish and that makes me feel like a leader in my classroom. I mostly like math in school because I have learned multiplication, long division, and using the butterfly method to solve fractions. I also like reading and learning about critical vocabulary. I think my school is special because sometimes our teachers give us extra outside time and on special occasions we get to watch a movie. I don’t think other schools get to watch movies. I think some schools are really strict.

The Future Teachers Club (FTC) was started last year to promote teaching careers and encourage students to become involved with activities in our school. The FTC meets twice a month to talk about concerns in our school, community involvement, and the path they will need to take in high school and college in order to become a teacher. This year the Future Teachers Club along with the middle school Leadership Team planned the BES Saint Patrick’s Day 5k. Students partnered with businesses to gain community support for the race. The students set up the 5k and worked at water stations and assisted students around the course. The Future Teachers Club is growing and many students are excited about the prospect of becoming teachers here in Duplin County.

At Beulaville Elementary School, I like learning new things at our different resource classes. Going to school at BES is lots of fun and I really like learning with my friends. I get to do fun things every day at school.

"Duplin County Schools is preparing me with the best education to become a doctor one day. I enjoy how the
teachers are respectful at my school. Beulaville Elementary is a very special place because of the nice administrators and teachers who help to keep my learning on track during the day."
