Welcome to Beulaville Elementary School!

My name is Emily Lanier Sandlin, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Beulaville Elementary School.

BES is more than just a school to me... it is home. I walked these halls as a student, and now I have the incredible privilege of leading the school that helped shape who I am today. As a lifelong member of the Duplin County Schools family, I understand firsthand the impact that great educators, strong relationships, and a supportive community can have on a child's life.

After graduating from East Carolina University in 2012, I returned home to begin my career in education. I spent ten years teaching Technology Education at East Duplin High School before serving as Assistant Principal at BES. In 2023, I graduated from ECU for a second time as a North Carolina Principal Fellow. Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: a deep commitment to serving students, supporting educators, and partnering with families.

At BES, we believe excellence lives in the everyday. It is found in the small moments that often go unnoticed... the encouraging conversation, the extra effort, the welcoming smile, the lesson that inspires curiosity, and the relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and loved. These moments are the foundation of a strong school culture and meaningful student success.

My goal is simple: to ensure that every child who walks through our doors feels known, challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I am equally committed to supporting our staff and partnering with our families, because we are strongest when we work together.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and look forward to all we will accomplish together.
